Blueberry, Carrot, and Greens Prebiotic Shake

Here is another recipe from my new Undoctored book.

Undoctored discusses all the steps you can take to restore magnificent health, achieve often astounding amounts of weight loss, and achieve higher levels of day-to-day functioning while freeing yourself from the tyranny of the healthcare system, your doctor, and prescription medications that they essentially force on you. And the results you obtain are superior to that obtained through the medical system.

The recipes provided in the book are not meant to be a comprehensive collection of recipes, but prototypes for you to use to create other recipes. For instance, this simple Blueberry, Carrot, and Greens Prebiotic Shake can be used as the basis for many variations.

This shake provides an easy way to get more greens and combine them with prebiotic fibers. The spinach is interchangeable with your choice of greens, such as kale or collard greens— great sources of vitamin K1.

Makes 1

  • 1 peeled green banana or peeled raw white potato, coarsely chopped
  • 1 cucumber, coarsely sliced
  • 1 cup fresh spinach
  • 1 carrot, coarsely sliced
  • 1⁄4 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon Virtue Sweetener (or other natural sweetener equivalent to 1 tablespoon sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon inulin or FOS powder (optional)

In a blender, combine the banana or potato, cucumber, spinach, carrot, blueberries, water, sweetener, and inulin or FOS powder (if using). Blend until the banana or potato has been liquefied and mixed well. If the shake is too thick, add water as needed and blend to mix.
